Hanxiong joined the Bangor Business School as a Senior Lecturer in Finance in 2024. Hanxiong was previously a Senior Lecturer in Finance at the University of Surrey. Hanxiong鈥檚 research areas are in: corporate governance, FinTech, and financial economics. He has published in the Journal of Corporate Finance;听European Financial Management;听European Economic Review;听British Accounting Review;听Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting;听Financial Markets, Institutions and Instruments amongst others. He was an Independent Non-Executive Director (INED) of a large credit union in the UK from December 2021 to January 2024. Hanxiong is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder, a Financial Risk Manager (FRM) certification holder and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA).听
