Overview
Wendy joined È«Ãñ²ÊƱ as a lecturer in 2007, teaching on the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) professional programs, delivering Management Accounting and Financial Accounting papers. A Senior Lecturer in Accounting in the Bangor Business School, teaches Management Accounting and Financial Statement Analysis, on the Undergraduate and the Postgraduate Programs and an External Examiner at Cardiff Metropolitan University, having previously been an External Examiner for ACCA modules at University of Wales, Newport.
In addition to these roles, Wendy is the Business School Director for Bangor College China, responsible for the Accounting and Finance and Banking and Finance programs.
She began her academic career, lecturing at Wigan and Leigh College, teaching on all levels of the Professional qualifications for ACCA, CIMA, AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) and ICSA (Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators) and was course manager for the AAT/NVQ in Accounting, ACCA and ICSA programs. Whilst at Wigan and Leigh, Wendy represented the College as a member of the Pilot Scheme Steering Group for the development of the NVQ in Accounting qualification with the AAT.
For a number of years Wendy ran her own accountancy practice, providing financial accounting, taxation and payroll services including general business advice.
In 2016 Wendy was made a Teaching Fellow of È«Ãñ²ÊƱ and shortlisted in 2017 as Teacher of the Year in the STLA’s (Student Led Teaching Awards).
