The School of Computer Science and Engineering, È«Ãñ²ÊƱ, is delighted to announce an exciting new partnership with (UK Electronics Skills Foundation), whose mission is to encourage more young people to study Electronics and to pursue careers in the sector. This formal partnership cements an already established relationship with the UKESF when the school hosted ‘Demystifying Semiconductors: Exploring the Technology behind modern Electronics’ in April 2024.
The School is particularly excited to engage with the award winning for undergraduates. The Scheme has been developed in collaboration with leading employers to support undergraduates to gain experience and develop the skills they need to thrive in Electronics. More than 900 students have participated in the Scheme which prepares undergraduates for industry via a ‘wrap around’ programme, including work placements and a professional skills development workshop. Some of the benefits of the Scheme include an annual bursary of £1,000 per annum, paid work placements, and a paid-for place at the residential UKESF Professional Development Course. The School is thrilled that our undergraduate Electronic Engineering students will now be able to apply for this Scheme in the 2025/26 academic year.
