For 20 years, È«Ãñ²ÊƱ’s Business School has enjoyed a successful partnership with the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF). The programme enables students to study a foundation year and the first two years of their qualification in Bahrain and complete their final year in Bangor to gain their undergraduate degree.

In 2016, the È«Ãñ²ÊƱ / BIBF Alumnus of the Year Award was established. The award was set up to acknowledge the achievements of our shared alumni and to recognise an alumnus of the programme each year who has achieved professional distinction in their chosen field.

During the annual alumni reunion held on 18 November 2024 on the terrace of the BIBF Headquarters in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Duaa AlMasqati was announced as the È«Ãñ²ÊƱ / BIBF Alumnus of the Year 2024.

Duaa graduated from È«Ãñ²ÊƱ in 2009 with a degree in Banking and Finance. She is Senior Strategic Execution Manager and Team Lead at the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), based in Manama.

In her role she manages the development, production and delivery of the whole strategic projects portfolio, building and maintaining of relationships with various external stakeholders in the industry covering the Financial Services, Capital Markets, Islamic Finance, Risk & Compliance and Sustainable Finance industries. She is a certified Project Management Professional, a qualified Social Media Strategist and has previously worked for Thomson Reuters, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), American Express and Standard Chartered Bank.
